I have worn through four pairs of running shoes and my custom orthotics since January.
I did not even run the NYC Marathon last Sunday.
It is my form of therapy. I attempt to walk off my political despair.
At this rate I should go through two dozen pairs of running shoes before he leaves if that even happens.
Everything seems out of control and for a person who likes to steer the ship it is incredibly frustrating.
On my walks I am channeling Network, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore.”
Until I grasp control or this nightmare ends I guess I’ll just keep walkin’.
And, if losing weight and saving on a therapist isn’t enough, a study just revealed that walking a few thousand steps a day can slow cognitive decline in older adults…wait, is that good news?! Perhaps it is better to not be so acutely aware.
Anyway, walk on…
