Opa, Kyma…Palm Beach Restaurant Review

Another opening, another show.

Restaurant not Broadway.

West Palm Beach is hotter than Mar-a-Lago face surgery.

Kyma has debuted, a descendant of the original Greek restaurant in Roslyn, New York on Long Island, as well as locations in NYC’s Flatiron and Hudson Yards districts and their sister restaurant, Elea, on the upper west side.

When I dined there Kyma had been open one week and was already running like a well-oiled machine.

Kyma is big, bold and beautiful.

The staff is very accommodating, the patrons tough to digest.

The loud scene, reinforced by a slick DJ playing techno dance music, was lost on this somber crowd consisting of Dowager humpers who complained endlessly.

As the evening progressed, neck tattooed, backward baseball cap wearing dudes and women in too tight fake bandage dresses made up the crowd surrounding the large bar area.

Thankfully, the food was much better than the visuals.

The martinis were delicious ($18).

The Greek Salad was fresh, crisp and loaded with ruby red tomatoes and an abundant amount of cucumbers and feta. My only complaint was the dressing was riddled with oregano which is as distasteful as Shalimar on women over 30 ($28).

The Zucchini and Eggplant Kyma Chips were thinly sliced, crispy bites of heaven over a bed of Tzatziki ($26).

The Lavraki or Mediterranean Branzino was sweet, meaty and tender…just a wonderful dish and nicely deboned ($48).

The Roasted Lemon Potatoes were cold and left me cold ($10). They graciously took them off the bill.

I truly enjoy Greek food and adore the country minus the Mar-a-Lago face, horse hair extension U.S. Ambassador, Kimberly Newsom-Villency-almost Trump.

Definitely dine at Kyma. The menu is expansive, offering a plethora of land and sea selections, a multitude of appetizers and lovely desserts.

It is a delightful choice in a Palm Beach sea of overpriced, bougie choses.
