Savoring Sushi Lin…NYC Restaurant Review

It was an evening with nothing in the refrigerator.

My goal was to unearth a walkable, new neighborhood restaurant.

I googled sushi on the upper west side and lo and behold Sushi Lin popped up.

Nestled at 170 Amsterdam Ave between West 67th & 68th Streets, Sushi Lin’s upper west side location brings its polished omakase expertise honed at esteemed NYC spots like Blue Ribbon and 15 East to our local neighborhood.

The seafood is sourced from Tokyo’s famed Tsukiji Market, promising freshness and taste.

The spot exudes an intimate, minimalist vibe fitting for a refined omakase experience as well as appealing a la carte offerings.

The service is attentive and friendly.

Since we were newbies we eased into the meal. We selected the Sushi Dinner which is comprised of a Chef selection of 9 pieces of sushi of the day and 1 roll ($39)

We also ordered the Sashimi Dinner, a Chef’s  selection of 16 pieces of sashimi of the day along with a bowl of rice ($42).

Both meals come with miso soup.

The fresh, delicious sushi was well presented.

We chose a lovely bottle of dry sake ($30).

A la carte and mini omakase alternatives are on the menu, such as a $39 mini omakase or a $70 mid-tier option with hand roll plus 10 pieces of nigiri, sushi and sashimi. Other offerings are Sushi and Sashimi omakase with 8 pieces of each and a handroll ($90) and the Full Omakase which includes 3 appetizers, 1 sashimi plate, 9 pieces of sushi, 1 handroll and a dessert ($125).

The restaurant manages to deliver fare often seen in pricier venues, offering value without compromising quality.

Whether you’re looking for a quick yet elevated lunch or a multi-course dinner journey, Sushi Lin provides a compelling neighborhood dining experience.

It is a satisfying choice if you are attending an event at Lincoln Center, especially with the temporary closing of two Boulud restaurants in the Lincoln Center area.

Sushi Lin 170 Amsterdam Avenue New York City. Open Tuesday-Sunday. Dinner 5-10 pm, Friday and Saturday 5-11pm. Lunch daily 12-2:30pm. Reservations on Resy. There are locations in the West Village, SoHo and the Lower East Side.
