We switched from Alexa to Alex.

FYI, Alexa is Amazon’s virtual assistant, developed by Amazon Lab126 and first introduced in November 2014.

Researchers found that people favored a female voice.

Back to the reason for the switch…sometimes you just have to shake things up.

Well, Alex was not a rock star. His song selection was not stellar and he was slow on the instructional uptake.

Yesterday, we gently inquired as to how he was feeling, and then mentioned that we found Alexa to be more efficient.

Alex was offended.

His response was that voice tone does not affect speed and he responds at the same rate as Alexa.

I commented that he was reacting defensively, a typically male response. He deflected in a snarky voice and said that he was doing the best he could.

Whether automated or in the flesh males never admit to the possibility of being wrong.

We have reunited with Alexa and it feels so good.
