Fresh Ayre…South Florida Restaurant Reviews

The journey to today’s restaurant was challenging.

We weathered torrential rain, horrendous directions with an unknown destination (who knew the restaurant was in a hotel), valets oblivious to arriving cars, no signage and impossible drivers.

We persevered and entered the lovely Amrit Resort, a wellness destination offering over a 100,000 square foot spa with all the holistic bells and whistles.

We found our way to Tula, a Mediterranean restaurant, not the restaurant we reserved. Ayre by Karma, was still a mystery.

I assume our karma was idling in neutral because we had none that evening.

Finally, we found Ayre and were seated with an ocean view.

It was a lengthy 60 minute trip to Singer Island and I craved a cold Aperol Spritz. Sadly, our drinks took 30 minutes to arrive as the resort was understaffed.

The good news is the food was actually creatively delicious.

My husband selected Indian dishes from Ayre.

The Chèvre and Herb Naan stuffed with goat cheese and accompanied by mint chutney was outstanding. The  Naan was warm and fluffy ($10).

The Lentil dip, Dal Makhani, was rich and velvety made with whole black lentils, butter, cream and spices ($22).

The crusted Branzino was fabulous, embellished with a variety of vegetables ($18).

I sidestepped Ayre and ordered Mediterranean cuisine from the Tula menu.

The Diver Scallops with Kohlrabi and green apple purée, tangerine and habanero glaze were excellent. The scallops were well prepared and the puree enhanced the flavor ($28).

Ayre’s Chef, Asif Syed, is known for elevating traditional dishes with a modern flair. The menu is comprised of three, five and seven course meals as well as à la carte.

After dinner we strolled the property.

Ayre is situated on Singer Island which is named after the Singer sewing machine heir. It is an upscale 4-mile barrier peninsula in Palm Beach County with pristine beaches and oceanfront condos.

Try Ayre if you are visiting in the Palm Beach area.

Ayre by Karma in the Amrit Ocean Resort and Spa 3100 North Ocean Drive Riviera Beach, Florida. Reservations on Resy.
