Stop the seasonal madness.

Craving the Hamptons, but just cannot deal with the insanity of bumper to bumper traffic and bougie, pretentious crowds?

Try Stone Creek Inn, a lovely Hampton adjacent restaurant.

Opened in 1996 in East Quogue, Stone Creek Inn is owned by Chef Christian Mir whose culinary journey began in southwest France. He met his partner in life, Elaine DiGiacomo, at the Tavern on the Green where Chef Mir was Executive Sous Chef.

The bucolic location is further enhanced by the delicious French influenced American cuisine, blending classic French technique with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, presenting both sophisticated and comfort cuisine.

We dined at Stone Creek on a Wednesday evening when they offer a fabulous two-course fixed price meal for $45. It is also available on Sunday and Thursday evenings.

In honor of their 30 year anniversary, a two-course $30 meal is featured on Mondays.

We proceeded to order cocktails. My Aperol Spritz was very tasty, but pricey ($22).

We got the party started with tantalizing Escargot prepared in the rich traditional style with garlic, shallot, parsley and breadcrumbs accompanied by wonderful warm bread.

We also selected the Peach, Heirloom Tomato and Feta Salad with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It was quite flavorable, although the peaches were still not fully ripened.

Also listed with the appetizers was a chilled Summer Sweet Corn Soup.

My main was a delectably tender organic Chicken Breast served with Whipped Potatoes, Swiss Chard, and a Mushroom Truffle Jus.

My husband ordered the roasted Hake with Leek Fondue and Purple Potatoes prepared to perfection.

The third available entree was Spaghetti Amatriciana.

We went rogue for dessert and indulged in the beyond amazing warm Beignets with chocolate and bourbon caramel dipping sauce, enhanced by fresh whipped cream ($21). After removing the petite paper clip, we dove into the bag featuring the six warm  beignets and I was so enamored that I did not capture their lucious beauty.

They also sent over an outrageous Coconut Sorbet.

The menu is expansive and solid. I need to return to sample the Egg Custard with Caviar and the Lobster Mashed Potatoes.

Our server, Bryan, was charming as is the traditional style environment.

The sitting is strangely tight. The woman planted next to me was verbally and physically expressive and continually hit me in the back. I just kept my Aperol close at hand and my focus on my handsome husband.

Stone Creek is a classic with stress free access.
