The ultimate Lobster Roll inquiry continues.
On a dreary spring day we jumped in the car and cruised the Long Island coastline.
We came upon the well established, The Cull House, located in Sayville, a tiny restaurant down a side street bordering the ocean and close to the Fire Island ferry.
The unassuming place was mostly empty.
We grabbed a window seat and perused the menu.
A Lobster Roll Lunacy lunch special featured a fresh Lobster Roll for $24.
I ordered it Connecticut style which means the lobster meat is warm and swaddled in butter.
It was served on toasted garlic bread which was surprisingly delicious and I ended up eating the bread separately from the sweet, succulent lobster meat.
My daughter enjoyed the fresh Steamed Clams ($24). They were large and flavorful although the sauce was quite garlicky and loaded with the dreaded oregano.
We requested some warm melted butter to rinse off the clams and that improved matters exponentially.
We also enjoyed crispy French Fries ($3).
We departed satiated and ready to continue with our Lobster-lollapalooza as the summer months approach.
