I have traveled far and wide in search of Lobster Roll perfection.

My journey has taken me to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Florida, and California.

Who knew that I would find the top contender in the tiny hamlet of Oakdale, New York on Long Island.

The Wharf is an unassuming, laid back, casual restaurant located in a residential area down a long road that ends at Vanderbilts Wharf.

There is a sizable indoor area and a simple yet appealing outdoor patio with scenic views of the bobbing boats on the Connetquot River.

The menu offers a wide variety of casual American fare.

I immediately zoomed in on the Lobster Roll.

There is an abundance of tender chunks of absolutely delicious, warm lobster meat on a well toasted brioche bun accompanied by an ample side of melted butter and a crispy load of French fries.

This is bliss

The succulent gem is $39.90. I have already returned on a Wednesday night when the lobster roll is priced at $29.90 and it contains the same amount of delicious lobster meat.

If you are in the New York area The Wharf is worth the trip.

BTW, in case you are not a lobster freak like I am the tacos are also very good.
